Mini Tennis at Avondale

At Avondale, we are helping youngsters develop the skills and techniques of tennis using the LTA Mini-Tennis scheme. With smaller courts, nets and rackets and lower bouncing balls, Mini Tennis offers the perfect introduction to the sport, with all the fun and energy of the real thing. Our courses are aimed at children between 4 and 10 years.

We focus on three stages of LTA Mini Tennis; Red, Orange and Green, each with their own court size and type of ball. This tailored approach enables players to develop vital skills and techniques at an early age. The age bands overlap so that children have the best opportunity to play at a level which is appropriate for them.

As well as learning the skills, rules and techniques of tennis, we fully support the LTA and Tennis Foundation’s commitment to ensuring that the tennis environment is fair, open and inclusive at every level. This starts by showing respect and understanding to their coaches during lessons and later, as they become more involved in matches and competitions, to all organisers, opponents and officials.

Mini tennis players are not members of Avondale. As such, they can only play at the club during sessions organised by the coaches.Their coaching fees include a payment to the club for court use. They can move on to become Junior members ; our coaching administrator will remind you about this at the appropriate time.
