Red Nose Day Quiz Night

Like many organisations across the UK, we joined in the Macmillan coffee morning on Friday 25th September. We raised nearly £300 on the day, thanks to the generosity of our members in the raffle and during the auction of two beautiful paintings by local artist Christine Butt. A lovely spread of cakes helped keep everyone in a good mood! We had also raised about £100 at the quiz night on the evening before and some funds raised by our Juniors through cake sales were also contributed. Our final total was close to £500. Well done everyone – and thank you to everyone who made the quiz night and the coffee morning such successes.
It might seem a bit unlikely that 30 people could be served a buffet Christmas meal in the clubhouse but this is what happened on Monday 8th after the social Mix-In. Thanks to the main organisers: Anita, Peter, Sue, Julie and Mike – and to everyone who contributed to the relaxed and enjoyable event.
A huge thank you to the organisers of our Dinner Dance at the Army Golf Club – Peter Fennell, Linda Robson and Anita Pocock-Gulliver. It was a great evening. Thanks also to Cathy Fennell and Ken Robson who got roped in to help.
Thank you to everyone who came to the MacMillan coffee morning at the end of September. It raised £465 and this will be nearer to £500 once gift aid has been taken into account. A great result! Well done to all the organisers.
The quiz night on March 28th was a sell-out success. Eight teams took part; the team names included The Dedeucers and Soft Balls. Vicky Judge had put together a really good quiz and controlled the event expertly. Many thanks to Vicky and the organisers : Peter Fennell, Linda Robson and Anita Pocock-Gulliver.
